Troubleshooting & FAQ
Common questions and what to check first.
My protected jar crashes or behaves differently
Start by turning protections off one at a time, starting with the newest or strongest one you turned on, and re-test after each change. Native protection and control flow are the two most likely to need adjustment, since they change actual program logic rather than just names or text.
A native method fails with "Invalid state"
This means a method marked @pbco.nativeh.Native used a branch or local variable it shouldn't have. See Native protection for the rule, and simplify the method — move any branching logic to a regular Java method that calls into the native one.
Native protection says it can't find Zig
Flowguard checks your PATH for a zig executable. Install Zig, or set native.zig to its full path directly.
Class sealing won't turn on
It needs native protection enabled and Java 17 or newer. Turn those on first.
Can I exclude a class entirely?
Yes — see Exclusions.
Where is my output file?
Next to your input file by default, unless you changed Output in the settings.
